GORILLA
TRACKING ITINERARY 8DAYS/7NIGHTS
Day 1:
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Meet your local
smiling guide and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake
Mburo is a special place, alive and interesting. It harbors
several species of mammals including Zebras, impalas, elands,
topi and buffaloes. The bird population is good with key species
like the rare shoebill stork. Stop over at the equator, evening
boat trip along the lake. Dinner and overnight at Mantana
Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 2:
Wake up to the sweet songs of the morning dove, deidrick cuckoo,
grey-capped warbler, black-headed weaver and ring necked dove.
Early morning game drive and return for full breakfast. Key
species here are Zebra, Impala, bush backs buffalo e.t.c.
Transfer to Bwindi stop over for lunch in Mbarara at Agip
Motel. After lunch continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp.
Day 3:
After breakfast, briefing, morning gorilla tracking and if
time allows, community walk. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National
Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to
human beings, the gorillas. This Impenetrable Forest is still
one of the best virgin tropical rainforests in East Africa.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp.
Day 4:
Morning walk to the waterfalls trail, which will take us three
hours. Catch up with various bird species and monkeys along
the trail. Return to the camp for lunch. After lunch travel
eastwards through the terraced mountains of Kabale otherwise
know as the “little Switzerland of Africa” Lake
Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island.
Day 5:
Lake Bunyonyi has private 16-hectare island within a multitude
of exotic bird species located on rare swimmable lake. After
breakfast canoe ride, sport various bird species along the
lake. Return to Bushara for lunch. Afternoon visit to the
Batwa local community, enjoy the local entertainers. Dinner
and overnight at Bushara Island.
Day 6:
After breakfast hiking on Bushara trail along the lakeshores,
return to the hotel, relax. Afternoon nature walk or bird
watching if you wish or chat the afternoon away. Dinner and
overnight at Bushara Island.
Day 7:
After breakfast transfer back to Kampala stop over for Lunch
in Mbarara at Agip Motel. If still energetic visit Ndele cultural
center for all Ugandan local entertainers. Dinner and overnight
at Botanical Gardens Hotel.
Day 8:
Join the group ready to transfer to Murchison Falls
National Park.
